WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Corn Marketing Program of Michigan (CMPM) is joining the Americans for Clean Aviation Fuels (ACAF) coalition. CMPM supports research, education and market development for commodities grown and sold in Michigan, including expanding the sustainable aviation fuel market. CMPM joins ACAF to help increase demand for Michigan corn through scaling the domestic SAF market, which is predicted to add 400,000 jobs and increase farm revenue by $427 million.
“The sustainable aviation fuel market has the potential to make an unprecedented impact on U.S. corn demand,” said Scott Piggott, executive director of CMPM. “We are excited for a future where Michigan’s farmers are important partners in supplying corn ethanol to be made into sustainable aviation fuel. CMPM looks forward to working with Americans for Clean Aviation Fuels to ensure that corn farmers’ perspectives are represented as we push to get this important market off the ground.”
“ACAF is pleased to welcome the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan to the coalition. Building demand for commodities grown and sold in the United States, such as corn, will increase production of SAF in the United States, providing an economic boost to our rural communities. CMPM represents a key commodity in the SAF value chain, and their team will provide pertinent input on how to scale SAF while supporting our American farmers,” said Americans for Clean Aviation Fuels States Director Nick Boeyink.
Composed of the largest industrial sectors in America, ACAF works to foster growth for the entire SAF value chain, including farmers, airlines and energy producers. ACAF leads efforts to expand the American SAF market and stimulate the nation’s economy by engaging the whole of the supply chain, creating jobs and making America more energy independent.
CMPM joins the growing roster of ACAF members representing the entire SAF value chain, including: Delta Air Lines, Airbus, Growth Energy, ExxonMobil, POET, Airlines for America, National Business Aviation Association, Corteva, Indiana Soybean Alliance, Iowa Soybean Association, Missouri Soybeans, Ohio Soybean Council, BP, Rolls-Royce, Natural State Renewables, the American Carbon Alliance, Summit Agricultural Group and Renew Kansas.
