WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans for Clean Aviation Fuels (ACAF) submitted a response to the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service’s request for input on the implementation of the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit. The comments focus on the role the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service play in boosting the sustainable aviation fuel market, which will create American jobs, cut costs for airlines and travelers, and advance American energy independence.
ACAF asks the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service to work to develop stable, long-term policies that support the growth of the alternative aviation fuel industry across the United States, including a 10-year extension of the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit. Without the credit, the United States risks losing out to foreign competitors and risks losing an economic boon for rural and urban communities alike.
ACAF’s members represent the full clean aviation fuels (CAF) value chain — from agriculture to transportation, manufacturers to energy producers, they are committed to driving the expansion and use of CAFs.
