ACAF Applauds gov. sarah huckabee sanders for her support of sustainable aviation fuel

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans for Clean Aviation Fuels (ACAF) applauded Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) for signing the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Incentive Act into law. The legislation, championed by ACAF member and Arkansas SAF producer Natural State Renewables, creates an income tax credit for qualified manufacturers of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Qualifying manufacturers will receive a tax credit on their purchases toward SAF production and processing starting on or after January 1, 2025.
“The SAF Incentive Act positions Arkansas as a leader in growing this new source of homegrown American energy. We thank Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders for her leadership in helping Arkansas farmers and rural communities reap the economic benefits of building a robust domestic SAF market,” said
Natural State Renewables President and CEO Ruben S. Martin III. “Producing more SAF in the United States is part of the broad effort to make America energy independent. Smart policy like the
SAF Incentive Act is the first step to seeing this nascent industry take flight.”
“Governor Sanders is helping to make sure that Arkansas farmers benefit from a strong American SAF market,” said Americans for Clean Aviation Fuels States Director Nick Boeyink. “Her leadership will boost domestic energy production, create jobs and new markets for Arkansans, and advance American innovation to meet the aviation industry’s energy needs.”
The advancement of SAF legislation in Arkansas reflects the broader economic benefits that come with fostering a robust domestic SAF market - the potential to create 400k jobs, a labor income increase of $9.3 billion in America’s heartland communities and the promotion of domestic energy independence.
ACAF is a diverse coalition committed to building a fully scaled SAF market in the U.S. The group’s members represent the full value chain, including: Delta Air Lines, Airbus, Growth Energy, ExxonMobil, POET, Airlines for America, National Business Aviation Association, Corteva, Indiana Soybean Alliance, Iowa Soybean Association, Missouri Soybeans, Ohio Soybean Council, BP, Rolls-Royce, Natural State Renewables, the American Carbon Alliance, Summit Agricultural Group, Renew Kansas and the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan.
